Formulating Ideas and Explanation
From my transition work from AS level to A2, throughout summer, I discovered the Cubism movement. I loved the aesthetics of it and felt I wanted to research more into it for my project this year.
I then brainstormed ideas of the options of topics I made myself to choose from. Out of this I really liked the idea of exploring the word 'home' and what it meant to individuals. I asked a number of people, who gave me both positive and negative responses to the word. Some expressed that home means the relationships you have with the people you're around, i.e. family and friends, others took a spiritual mindset and said it was the church, heaven, or God. Many related the word to being known and loved in some shape or form. But some also suggested that it could be when you're alone, and you have the freedom in which you can fully act yourself, or a special place for yourself, like a holiday destination, or somewhere simple, like a park bench, where you could've had memories or reflection time. However, a number of people also had bad connotations of the word, from possible past experiences. They related the word to homelessness, brokenness, and being alone, but most of them came to the conclusion that God can fix them. I want to show this in my photography.
